Why We Do It

MISHIKA INTELLIGENCE · Company behind MAUZOP

A business can look fine — until you discover too late that it wasn't.

MAUZOP began with a food business, a difficult lesson and a question that stayed long after the doors had closed.

The café was not failing its customers.

Customers loved the food, and a large share of them kept coming back.

From the outside, the café seemed to be doing many things right.

But a business can look healthy on the surface and still become difficult to sustain when the owner can no longer give it the attention it needs.

Personal circumstances gradually pulled founder Yash Chawlla away from the business.

More of the day-to-day operation had to depend on others.

The business slowed.

Eventually, the café closed.

We will not turn that chapter into a tragedy.

It became a question.

What happens when the owner cannot be everywhere?

After the café closed, Yash started looking more closely at the realities behind food-business failure.

One pattern kept standing out.

A restaurant can have sales and still have weak economics.

Owners often reach the end of a month and make a familiar calculation:

sales, minus purchases, minus rent, salaries and other expenses.

What remains is called profit.

But that final number does not always explain the business underneath it.

Was purchasing efficient?

Was stock used correctly?

Did wastage rise?

Were menu economics healthy?

Were vendor rates moving?

Were discounts eroding margin?

Were there expenses that had quietly become too high?

Could some of the profit leakage have been seen earlier?

The more Yash studied the problem, the clearer one thought became:

An owner cannot be everywhere.

The business still needs to be understood when the owner is not standing inside it.

That thought became MAUZOP.

Not another pair of hands. Another layer of understanding.

The original instinct was almost like wanting a trusted business partner beside you at all times.

Someone looking at the business when you cannot.

But software should not pretend to be a CEO.

It should not pretend to know the business better than the people who run it.

So the idea became more disciplined:

Build something that can watch the signals.

Show the evidence.

Explain what may be happening.

Help put a financial context around it.

Suggest what deserves attention.

And then leave the decision where it belongs.

With the owner.

The story became personal before the product became real.

There was a period when several parts of Yash's life changed at once.

A business had closed.

He was rebuilding personally and professionally while raising his young daughter.

It was a demanding period, but this is not a story built around hardship for its own sake.

The more important part is what followed.

He kept learning, kept working and kept returning to the restaurant problem that had stayed with him.

His daughter became a reason to keep moving forward, and MAUZOP gave that effort a direction.

A difficult chapter did not have to decide what came next.

Building again.

“I came from the business problem, not from the software industry. I knew food, customers and the pressure of running a business. I did not know how to build software yet — but I knew exactly what I wished had existed when I needed it.”

For months, MAUZOP became part of everyday life — researching, learning, testing, starting again when something failed, and staying with the problem long enough for an idea to become a real product.

That experience left another belief behind:

Effort does not always reward you quickly.

But it rarely goes to waste.

A small piece of home.

“The name MAUZOP is personal to me. ‘Mau’ comes from someone very close to my heart, so the name has always carried a little piece of home with it. It reminds me why building a business matters in the first place — not only to grow, but to build a better life around it. I like to think it carries a little good fortune too. And that thought has stayed with MAUZOP from the beginning: a business should demand commitment, but it should not take your whole life away.”

That idea now sits underneath the company too.

Because behind every number is somebody's life.

Behind every restaurant are things that never appear properly in a dashboard.

A family's income.

Employees waiting for salaries.

A lease.

A loan.

Years of work.

A dream somebody took a risk on.

Hard-earned money.

Time that could have been spent somewhere else.

So when money leaks quietly from a food business, it is not merely a percentage moving on a report.

It belongs to somebody.

That is why profit leakage became MAUZOP's first obsession.

We cannot promise that every restaurant will succeed.

No software can honestly make that promise.

Businesses close for many reasons, and some of those reasons are outside any system's control.

Our purpose is more grounded than that.

We do not want an owner to discover an important warning sign only after it has become much harder to act on.

If something important can be seen earlier, explain it.

If the evidence is weak, say so.

If management needs to check something, make that clear.

If a restaurant owner can understand the business sooner and act with better context, MAUZOP has done something worthwhile.

The outcome we care about.

We want the owner to understand where the money is going.

To see things they might otherwise have missed.

To feel more in control of the business.

And, where better visibility genuinely allows it, to spend less of life wondering what is happening when they are not there.

Not because MAUZOP runs the restaurant for them.

Because they understand their restaurant better.

That is why we do it.
